G0t the chance to explore BANGKOK many times, as I like this special country, Over 10 Million peoples out of the total population of 60 Million live in the capital, you know the city is the urban and cultural heart of the land.
This year we went to Bangkok for CV Graduate Thailand program, as well as 2 opening night in bangkok for CV Graduate Bhutan. Just being there again with my family and Kev's family members, we have a great trip.
As some of my friends is asking about the Bangkok Attractions place........ so I do my best to describe. If you are shopping QUEEN or KING, your purpose to bangkok is just for shopping. From the gleaming chrome and marble shopping centres to the busy bustling markets. Bangkok teems with places to buy just about everything. Shopping centres with cool understand interiors selling exclusive labels, boutiques with funky clothes, flea markets, antique shops, handicraft centres, flower markets and fantastic food markets.... the choices like the shopping, is exhausting!!!
Chatuchak Market
A busy bustling maze where you'll shop until you feet are sore, haha!! and you still won't have covered half of it!! Everything from fashion, Art, pets, plants, food, ceramics, stationery and all kind of stuff can be found. if you enjoy bargaining you'll be in absolute heaven. A place that you might want to go back many times.
** Our usual shopping place.
Pratunam Market
Great bargains in young ready-to wear fashion, jewellery and leather goods. Hot and colourful -one of bangkok's old established market is packed with stalls and vendors who spill out on to the main street. Great for teenager. My mother like this place so much, we solute her that she can shop whole day here.
** Find out "Fashion city mall" it is a wholesales place, majority of retailer go there to get the clothes there, remember to bring more cash, otherwise you will regret.
Suan Lum night market
It is not your traditional Bangkok market and although largely geared towards the tourist market, is still an interesting evening market to stroll around.
** Less stalls now compare with many year ago.
Pak Klong Talaat (Flower market)
A perfect market for insomniacs, its best visited early morning. Orchids, rare exotics, lotus, roses, lily different kinds of flower and even several incredibly coloured chrysanthemums, all well below price. Girls lover!!!!
Sampeng Lane
A narrow walkway lined with Market stalls and tiny local shops jostling for room, Sampeng seems to go on for miles with each section specializing in certain goods. Walk through braids and beads to costume jewelry, to cutlery, fabrics, monks' supplies, chinese stuff and more. Sometime you will find special and interesting thing over here.
Nokhon Kasem (China Town)
Inside the maze of lanes and alleys within Chinatown. Formerly the thieves Market. An difference range of items from auto parts to antiques, coffee grinders to ice cream makers, and a selection of chinese gongs await.
Attractions place.......
The Grand Place
A "Must see" the fabulous Grand Palace is exquisitely decorated with gold and glass which literally dazzle in the sun. Bangkok most famous landmark was built 1782.
Wat Phra Kaeo (The Emerald Buddha)
One of Thai most revered temples. Located inside the grounds of the Grand Palace. This Royal temple contains an exquisite Emerald Buddha which dated back to around the 14th century. An Absolute must. Must dress appropriately, no shorts or revealing tops, otherwise you simply won't allowed to be in.
Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)
Perhaps Bangkok's most famous temples - the one you will see on all the postcards. It has an imposing spire over 70 metres high. Beautifully decorated with tiny pieces of coloured glass and chinese porcelain placed delicately into intricate patterns.
Floating Market
Unique rural Floating Market at Damneon Saduak, the original floating market, where dozens of small skiffs are floating about "manned" by one or two women selling fruits, vegetables, firewood and varied country products.
Evening Dinner Cruise
Enjoy a dinner along Chao Phraya River. Cruise & feel the sight & sound of Bangkok at night view. Enjoyed the special Thai food on the cruise.
